Stigma and Difficulty Accessing Medical Care in a Sample of Adults with Serious Mental Illness

Up to 13% of patients with a serious mental illness directly attribute access barriers to stigma. This "treatment gap" is worsened by factors like lack of mental health care coverage and the burden of mental health symptoms themselves.
